| Alleghany Regional Hospital - Low Moor, VA
Alleghany Regional Hospital (www.alleghanyregional.com) in Low Moor, Virginia is a 156-bed acute-care medical/surgical hospital. The medical staff represents a wide variety of specialties. In addition to 66 general medical and surgical beds, ARH offers six pediatric rooms, a 18-bed Intensive Care Unit, five Operating Rooms, one cystoscopy room, two endoscopy rooms, and a six-bed Emergency Department. The Alleghany Birthing Center has four labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms, and a large caesarian-section room.

Clinch Valley Hospital - Richlands, VA
Clinch Valley Medical Center (www.clinchvalleymedicalcenter.com) is an important part of the area since 1938; today CVMC has 200 licensed beds, over 500 employees, and a medical staff of more than 80 physicians representing a wide range of medical specialties. The 2003 "America's Top Hospitals" issue of Money magazine identified Clinch Valley Medical Center as one of the top 25 hospitals in the country for treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Approximately 400 babies are born at the hospital each year.

Danville Regional Hospital - Danville, VA
Danville Regional Health System (www.danvilleregional.org) began more than 120 years ago with 28 women and a vision as the Ladies Benevolent Society Home of the Sick. Over the years the hospital has grown to the current medical center which has a Center for Radiation Oncology, state of the art critical care and cardiac catheterization labs and orthopedic/neurological units. A new home for the Women's and Children's Center was built in 2001. In early 2002, construction began on the Heart Center of the Piedmont and in March 2003, the Heart Center performed the very first open heart surgery in the Dan River Region of Virginia and North Carolina. Johnston Memorial Hospital - Abingdon, VA
The year 2005 marks Johnston Memorial Hospital's (www.jmh.org) 100th anniversary. Established in 1905 by Dr. E.T. Brady, the 12-bed facility was was originally housed in a small wooden cabin. Dr. George Ben Johnston and Dr. Amis Willis took control of the hospital in 1919, constructing a new building and adding laboratory and radiology services.It was incorporated as a community-owned, non-profit organization, in the 1940s and soon after pediatric, physical therapy, and surgical services were added.

JMH is now a modern medical center that is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and has more than 700 employees and 120 medical staff members. Hospital sites are subject to change based on the VCOM Administration, student training needs, and/or administrative changes in hospitals. While the training sites are subject to change without notice to students, those students who are in clinical rotations at the time of the change will be accommodated for the duration of the rotation when possible. Rotation site changes will be updated to the class choosing rotations annually.
