VCOM missions provide health literacy programs for the communities they serve. Students are introduced to the concept of physicians as community health educators and are taught strategies to communicate health information to individual patients and the public.

Our commitment to global health by establishing local health clinics and responding to disasters is discussed further in our overview of Medical Missions and in each Mission site Web page of the Medical Missions section. Click below or on the links to the right to go to information on Appalachia, Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Guatemala .
