Student Resources:

he Cellular and Molecular Physiology Department consists of 5 Faculty members that teach first & second year students the foundations of medicine in preparation for advanced study in other basic sciences and in clinical medicine. The cellular and molecular physiology course goes throughout the first two years of the curriculum with each faculty member teaching in their specialty. In addition to our teaching responsibilities, each Faculty member has a research interest. For more information regarding a particular faculty member, please see the Faculty page.
The goal is to provide students with an understanding of the general physiologic principles responsible for health and disease in the human body (the osteopathic “structure and function” approach to understanding the human). Our second goal is to assure students acquire the medical knowledge to perform well on both COMLEX and USMLE exams.
