Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA)

All VCOM students become members of the Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA). The organization is one of the most active on campus, and is the student organization for the American Osteopathic Association. SOMA provides many activities on campus such as social programs, political awareness information about the medical profession and professional development opportunities in osteopathic medicine.  SOMA leadership attends the AOA House of Delegates and participates in the sessions to learn more about how to represent patient interests and professional perspectives.

Each year SOMA leadership encourages students to attend D.O. Day on the Hill. VCOM students and faculty attend to represent the interest of their patients to politicians in Washington D.C.
