Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) is pleased to announce that Dr. Timothy J. Kowalski, D.O., FACN has been appointed as the Vice Dean for the new Carolinas Campus in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Kowalski will lead the establishment and implementation of all VCOM academic programs. He will also work to establish and further develop clinical site relationships in the region. “What excites me most about serving as the Vice Dean, is that I have been entrusted to steward the development of the Carolinas Campus, through recruiting faculty, staff and students, who embrace the culture of caring and support, for which the VCOM family has come to be known,” Kowalski stated. “ It’s all about developing relationships with individuals who share the common vision of producing highly skilled osteopathic physicians, to touch the lives of millions of future patients in practice areas of greatest need. Right now we are looking for a few good healers to launch our inaugural class.”
Kowalski is a longtime resident of South Carolina. Prior to coming to VCOM, Kowalski served as the medical director of the William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute in Columbia, SC. A past president of the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Kowalski is currently serving his third term as the osteopathic at-large director. He has also held prominent appointments in the American Osteopathic Association, National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, American Association of Osteopathic Examiners and the Federation of State Medical Boards.
