Some Blacksburg medical students made safety awareness fun Saturday.
It was a beautiful day for students at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine to host the community safety fair on school grounds there in Blacksburg.
A representative from each emergency service was on hand .
There were demonstrations and tours of helicopters, fire trucks and ambulances for both kids and adults.
"It's nice to be able to give back," said event coordinator Brent Steinweg. "Just to prepare people if something were to go wrong.
This was the first year VCOM hosted this community event.
It was coordinated by the school's Emergency Medical Club.
