The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) is proud to announce that the VCOM Student Chapter of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine (AOASM) was recently awarded National Chapter of the Year at the annual conference in Anaheim, California. This award is based on several criteria including student participation, community outreach, and providing opportunities for professional educational opportunities. VCOM was chosen out of 31 total medical colleges nationally. |

Ben Bring, second year medical student and president of the VCOM AOASM, was honored to receive this award on behalf of VCOM. “We are fortunate to have a great relationship with both Virginia Tech and Radford University athletic department, which allow us to work closely with sports medicine physicians in the collegiate athletic environment. On behalf of the officers and the rest of the sports medicine club at VCOM, we are honored to receive this prestigious award, and we look forward to continuing to provide sports medicine learning opportunities for VCOM student in the future.”
