Clinical Faculty Positions for Carolinas Campus

Primary Care faculty needed to teach within the Principles of Primary Care Course. The course is a lecture / laboratory course that includes the curriculum for physical diagnosis, primary care topics, examination of the muscular and skeletal systems, communication, clinical skills, and osteopathic manipulation. Board certified faculty in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and emergency medicine desired.  The applicant must be skilled in osteopathic manipulation. The hours include each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, 47 weeks per year. Physiology Faculty for Carolinas Campus

To teach medical school students inPhysiology across a two-year preclinical curriculum, conduct research/scholarly activities and provide service to the institution. Participate in the research program including the organization, plan and write grants to seek external funding for the program.


Psychiatry Department Chair for Carolinas Campus

The position of Psychiatry Chair is one that organizes the Psychiatry department at the college and the college affiliated clinical sites. The position is responsible for the development of and participation in the delivery of the educational and research programs related to psychiatry. The position is the primary advisor to students on psychiatry as a specialty. The position is .4 in Administration and Teaching and includes a .6 FTE in clinical practice/clinical teaching within the college affiliated sites. Interviews are open immediately and will remain open through December 1, 2010 or until the position is filled.  Board certification is required. Pay commensurate with training and expertise. Surgery Department Chair for Carolinas Campus

The Director of Admissions - Carolinas Campus is responsible for the administration of the entire admissions process on the Carolinas Campus. This position is also responsible for the direct recruitment of prospective student through speaking engagements, personal contacts and special presentations. The Director will develop and implement recruiting strategies in the Carolinas region directed towards pre-health undergraduate and/or graduate students. More information...


Director of Admissions for Virginia Campus

The Director of Admissions – Virginia Campus is responsible for the administration of the admissions process on the Virginia Campus. This position is also responsible for the recruitment of prospective students through speaking engagements, personal contacts and special presentations (when recruiting the Director represents both campuses). The Director will develop and implement recruiting strategies in the Virginia and Appalachian regions and manages the Ambassador program for the Virginia Campus. More information...

Clinical Assessment Coordinator for Virginia Campus

The Clinical Assessment Coordinator at VCOM is responsible for the management of 3rd and 4th year assessments for VCOM students, including tracking and posting of evaluations, comments for the Clinical Deans portion of the MSPE, posting of post-rotation exams, tracking and posting of 4th year papers and grading, and report generation to the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, the Directors of 3rd and 4th year rotations, and the Clinical Chairs.  The person in this position will assist the Registrar with transcripts and assuring promotion requirements. Facilities Assistant for Virginia Campus

Assists in a wide range of duties with specific responsibility for building maintenance, and security.  Enforces all building policies to assure the quality, continuity, and efficiency of college operation with an emphasis on customer service and effectiveness.  Assists with keeping copiers and printer in good working order.  Assist with classroom and conference center setup as needed. Monitors the building before closing hours.  Responsible for making sure the building is empty of students before closing, looks for safety violations, activates and deactivates alarms at appropriate times, checks the floors for locked doors and turns off lights. Medical Education Specialist for Carolinas Campus

The Medical Education Specialist (MES) will assist in the daily operations of Office of Medical Education at the VCOM-Carolinas Campus.  The MES will be responsible for compiling and formatting all classroom exams, administering and grading exams, maintaining and calculating grades, posting of all teaching materials, and administering class assessments.  The MES will have significant interaction with both students and faculty, and an amicable professional demeanor is essential.  Additionally, the MES will serve as the administrative assistant for the Associate Dean of Curriculum Assessment and Development.
