he Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine’s (VCOM) Department of Faculty Development and Continuing Medical Education is comprised of two program areas: Faculty Development and Continuing Medical Education.

  • Faculty Development
    VCOM’s Office of Faculty Development offers a wide variety of activities and services designed to enhance professional development and promote active dissemination of new knowledge to improve health care results.
  • Continuing Medical Education
    VCOM’s Office of Continuing Medical Education offers educational activities to enhance the clinical competence and professional development of physicians. These activities include annual conferences, forums, seminars, and workshops designed to focus on medical knowledge, patient care, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, practice-based learning and improvement, systems-based practice, osteopathic philosophy and osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) and meet the additional educational needs.

The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine recognizes its responsibility as a vital educational resource for the College’s teaching personnel. The ongoing Faculty Development and Continuing Medical Education program offers educational activities to expand and improve the faculty’s medical knowledge and resources to assure the highest standards of academic excellence. Programs congruent with the organization’s mission and the performance evaluation process are primary considerations in VCOM’s Faculty Development and Continuing Medical Education strategic plan.
