he Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine’s (VCOM) Department of Faculty Development and Continuing Medical Education is comprised of two program areas: Faculty Development and Continuing Medical Education (FD/CME).

    VCOM’s Department of FD/CME offers a wide variety of activities and services designed to enhance professional development and promote the active dissemination of new knowledge to improve health care results.
  • Continuing Medical Education
    VCOM’s Department of FD/CME offers educational activities to enhance the clinical competence and professional development of physicians. These activities include annual conferences, forums, seminars, and workshops designed to meet identified educational needs.

The Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine recognizes its responsibility as a vital educational resource for the College’s teaching personnel. The ongoing FD/CME program offers educational activities to expand and improve the faculty’s medical knowledge and resources to assure the highest standards of academic excellence. Programs congruent with the organization’s mission and the performance evaluation process are primary considerations in VCOM’s faculty development strategic plan.
