he Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine is a professional graduate college offering the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) The VCOM – Virginia Campus operates with a collaborative agreement with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) for education, research, and student activities. This collaboration offers the Virginia Campus students many benefits such as an opportunity to participate in the campus activities with students from Virginia Tech, including use of the library, recreational facilities, student center, arts and theatre programs, intramural programs, and access to Virginia Tech football and other athletic event tickets. The collaboration between faculty offers the opportunity for joint research programs and sharing of faculty for education.
Additional upstate colleges and universities collaborate with VCOM for education programs and on research. Among these colleges are Converse, Anderson College, Methodist College, Presbyterian College, and USC Upstate. The City of Spartanburg through the “College Town Consortium” for student social and enrichment experiences, which are available to VCOM students as well as other college students in the immediate area. |
