FACULTY POSITIONS:


CLINICAL SPECIALTY FACULTY

Clinical Specialty Faculty are needed for the following disciplines:

Endocrinology Chair

Preference will be given to D.O./Ph.D. applicants. M.D./Ph.D. applicants considered for IM subspecialties. Non-Ph.D. faculty with a strong history of teaching and research will also be considered. The positions are 40% teaching and research and 60% clinical duties.

Internal Medicine Chair

The Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, located in Blacksburg, Virginia, is seeking a chairperson for the Department of Internal Medicine. This full time faculty member will oversee all academic and clinical activities of the department. The individual will provide leadership and direction for the department. Candidates must possess a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an AOA-accredited college of osteopathic medicine, plus board certification in Internal Medicine by the AOBIM. The successful candidate will have proven clinical and faculty experience.

Neurology Faculty

The Neurology Department at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks two BC/BE, fellowship-trained candidates for our faculty. Special consideration will be given to those who have successfully completed fellowships in EMG/Neuromuscular diseases and in Neurobehavioral Disorders/Dementia, and to those who can demonstrate skills in osteopathic manipulation. Proficiency must be demonstrated in the specialty area, in classroom teaching, and in patient care. One candidate will also be considered for appointment as our residency director, and will have time protected to develop that program. The new faculty member is expected to develop a clinical research program in his specialty. The Neurology Department presently consists of three full-time faculty members, who have active teaching assignments and research efforts.

Rheumatology and Infectious Disease

The College is looking for candidates interested in 20% education and a minimum of 20% protected research time. 60% of salary must come from clinical practice or externally funded research. Great Benefits. Preference given to candidates with DO/MS or DO/PhD first, followed by MD/PhD, then DO or MD. Seeking minority or women applicants as well. Candidates will be strongly considered after 6 months employment for the chair positions in their discipline. Education experience and research experience required. Salary based upon credentials and experience in education and research. Positions report to the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs.
